Who are we looking for?

We're seeking a visionary yet hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to own and shape the financial strategy of our early-stage AI company. As a founding leadership team member, you'll navigate capital planning, fundraising, budgeting, and financial controls to drive sustainable growth. You'll partner closely with the CEO and product teams to align financial planning with our go-to-market and innovation goals—building a rock-solid foundation for scale.

Responsibilities

Design and implement short- and long-term financial strategies aligned with company goals.
Lead capital raising efforts (equity, convertible notes, grants) and manage investor communications.
Create and manage forecasting models, budgets, and financial KPIs tailored to an AI/SaaS startup.
Monitor burn rate, runway, and cash flow with agility and transparency.
Set up scalable accounting systems and financial reporting processes.
Ensure regulatory and tax compliance across global jurisdictions.
Advise the executive team on financial implications of business decisions and market opportunities.
Support due diligence processes and strategic planning for potential partnerships or acquisitions.

Qualifications & Attributes

7–15+ years of experience in finance, preferably in early-stage startups or high-tech/AI companies.
Demonstrated success in fundraising and financial leadership in fast-paced environments.
Strong grasp of SaaS metrics, startup finance, and early-stage equity structures (SAFE, equity pools, etc.).
Comfort with ambiguity and building financial systems from scratch.
Proficiency with financial modeling, budgeting, and tools like Excel, QuickBooks, or SaaS analytics platforms.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and a deep belief in AI's potential.

Working Hours

Flexible, with at least 4 hours overlap between 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM EST (6:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST). We encourage asynchronous productivity with regular syncs.

Compensation

Equity-based or commission-based (until profitability); transitioning to a competitive salary based on industry standard.
